The original painting sold during the “Nuestros Santos” Exhibit at Wonderland SF in Spring of 2018. Oil on panel, 20 in x 24 in and a rustic frame from Alibi Interiors. Along with scores of people around the world, Anthony Bourdain was someone I always held in high regard. Over the years I have watched countless hours of his various travel shows and read his books. When Irene Hernandez-Feiks, owner and curator at Wonderland SF, told me the them of the upcoming exhibit and asked me to participate, I knew right away what I wanted to paint. Bourdain had just passed away within a couple weeks of the exhibit and few paintings have come together so quickly for me. I was truly gutted by the news of his suicide and wanted to process my feelings on the untimely tragic loss of a personal hero. Working from multiple press photos I compiled this portrait. I hope it captures his essence- the kindness, the brashness and the wisdom of a well lived life.
The signed prints are available in three sizes: 8x10, 11x14 and 16 x 20. The painting was professionally photographed by Almac Camera in order to capture the color accuracy and clarity of the brushwork in amazing detail.
8x10 and 11x14 prints are professionally packaged with hard backing and clear sleeve. They will be shipped flat.
16x20 prints are shipped in a mailer tube.
I have included shipping for free on everything in the shop. I know shipping costs have kept me from making purchases in the past and I want that to not be an issue here. Shipping is only possible in the contiguous U.S. at this time. If you are interested in an item and are outside of this territory, please contact me: email@example.com and I will be sure to make arrangements for you at a reasonable shipping cost.
